Advertising Sales Representative - Cabin Life
|Description:||We are seeking a candidate to join our professional sales team. The ideal person will have advertising and marketing experience as well as strong sales experience with proven sales success. In addition, we will be looking for enthusiasm, strong communications skills, and good organization skills. We develop long term relationships with our customers by consultative selling and exceptional customer service. This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to join our team to sell print, web, email and sponsorship advertising for Cabin Life Magazine.|
|Duties:||This position reports to a Group Ad Sales manager and is responsible for executing the company’s advertising sales efforts, including magazine, web, newsletters, and stand-alone promotions. They work with existing accounts to help reach their goals by offering innovative advertising solutions and campaigns. They are also responsible for finding new prospects and converting them to long term customers. The majority of contacts are made by phone or email - so excellent phone and writing skills are required. In addition, strong attention to detail skills and the ability to meet deadlines and multitask are necessary to be successful in this position.|
Successful Ad Sales Reps demonstrate a high level of energy and creativity. They understand the long term value of every customer and come up with advertising programs that enhance the business relationship. They also need to be comfortable working directly with the client or through representative agencies.
|Qualifications:||•Previous/demonstrated knowledge of advertising, marketing, sales techniques and practices. PC proficient with a working familiarity of the Internet and email.|
•Detail oriented, organized, and able to meet daily deadlines while coordinating multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
•Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and via the phone. 90% of client contact is by phone or email and establishing long lasting customer relationships is critical!
•Creativity in dealing with existing base clients and prospecting for new customers. An important part of our business is developing creative ways to find new customers.
•Strong communication and relationship building skills. This position interacts with a variety of internal customers from Marketing, Editorial, and Ad Services so candidates should have the ability to work effectively with all functions.
•Good analytical abilities will help when reporting and analyzing results and providing information to customers.
•A healthy curiosity about our customers, the markets we serve, trends, email marketing, and web advertising.
•A degree in marketing, advertising, or business plus at least two years related work experience/internships.
